Enterprise Blockchain adoption is on the rise as more and more organizations move out of PoCs into production. Recent improvements around multi-party governance, cross-cloud interoperability and integration with back-end systems have shown that enterprise blockchain is ready for prime time and going mainstream. Forward-thinking organizations are adopting enterprise blockchain to reduce the cost of trust, increase efficiency and unlock new opportunities for value creation. For example, Union Bank is providing financial inclusion to 35 million unbanked Filipinos and some of the largest banks and trade finance institutions in the world are improving cash flows by up to 40% using blockchain. Come to this session to hear about the advances in enterprise blockchain that are driving adoption and spawning the creation of entirely new value networks, and learn what new capabilities will fuel tomorrow’s applications.

In the beginning, there was only Bitcoin. Today, there are more than two thousand crypto assets, and growing. What is this new world of Blockchain and digital assets all about?
Blockchain is the technology that underpins digital assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin. It is rapidly changing the way humans transmit and store value, and soon digital assets will replace traditional wealth creation assets, such as equities and other wealth creation vehicles.
The movement towards Asset Tokenisation is going to transform how future wealth is created. Isn’t it time you understand what this new digital economy has in store for humanity?
What you will learn:
- What is Bitcoin, Blockchain, and the broader digital asset ecosystem?
- Why is Bitcoin considered ‘Digital Gold’ and how can one Bitcoin be worth nearly €5,000?
- What social and business problems can the Blockchain ecosystem solve?
- What is Asset Tokenisation and what new opportunities should we be looking towards for future wealth creation?

While the development of blockchain is ground-breaking and has many operational benefits, it also presents unprecedented challenges, for users and for policy-makers alike. Craig Dunn and Emilio Davila-Gonzalez discussed how standards are being developed, at international and European level respectively, to foster acceptance and application of these new technologies, and to develop appropriate policy responses.
About the Speakers:
Craig Dunn was appointed Chair of the International Standards Technical Committee for Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technologies (ISO/TC 307) in 2017. He also chairs the Australian Government’s Fintech Advisory Group.
Emilio Davila-Gonzalez has been Head of ICT standardisation at DG Connect at the European Commission since 2017, working on the coordination of Standardisation policy and liaising with European Standardisation Organisations.

Exploring the role for blockchain and new technologies in creating an archive and attribution record for the professional dance community.
There have been a number of successful implementations of DLT technologies in tracking digital IP and creating proof-of-existence, copyright and ownership records. We lend our curiosity to the field of dance and examine the potential of DLT and other digital technologies to enhance attribution and authorship records.
We explore:
- how to protect the rights of choreographers to have their role acknowledged within a chain of attribution.
-how to create a proof-of-attribution for movements/segments/acts/entire works. This may include various forms of documentation - dance notation, digital imagery, and other media files.
-the potential for AI, computer vision and other autonomous technologies in determining, testing and oversight in a proposed new system.
Speakers include: Yvonne McNamara /Barrister at Law; Fiona Delaney /CEO, Origin Chain Networks; Saad Shahid, CeADAR Research Centre; Ríonach Ní Néill, Ciotóg; Ismael Arribas /Tech Entrepreneur, Spain introducing myceliaformusic.org.

Do all events have to be about Blockchain?
Blockchain is a very broad topic but as long as the content is focused on blockchain in some way it should be ok. For example, blockchain can be discussed under a vertical or as a potential solution to a business problem. -
Why should I host an event for Blockchain Ireland Week?
To help promote blockchain as a career option and help grow the knowledge of the ecosystem. You could also be highlighting working blockchain solutions to highlight the maturity of the technology. -
How big does the event have to be?
Examples of types of events are panel discussions, roundtables, technology workshops. Capacity of event will depend on the space available to you. -
How can I get help with promoting the event?
Tag @BlockIreland and use #BlockchainIrelandWeek and we will promote
